Most of your answers point the same direction, and the thing holding you is not doubt about the answer. It is what the answer would cost: their face when you say it, the flat you would leave, the year it would take.
That is a real weight and it deserves to be taken seriously rather than argued out of you. But it is a different problem from whether to go, and treating it as the same problem is what keeps people in place for another year.
Naming it as two questions rather than one tends to be the part that moves. What do I want, and what am I willing to carry to get it, are both answerable. Mashed together they are not.
